Cleats For A Cause is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing sports equipment, particularly cleats, to children in under-resourced communities. Our mission is to ensure that every child has the opportunity to participate in sports regardless of their economic circumstances.
Cleats For A Cause was founded in 2018 by a group of former college athletes who recognized the disparities in youth sports access across America.
We currently operate in over 50 communities across the United States. Our headquarters is in New York, but we partner with schools, youth leagues, and community organizations nationwide to distribute equipment where it's needed most.
We accept new or gently used cleats (soccer, football, baseball, etc.), sports uniforms, balls (soccer, football, basketball, etc.), protective gear (helmets, shin guards, pads), and other sports equipment in good condition. The equipment should be clean and in usable condition.
You can drop off equipment donations at any of our partner locations listed on our Get Involved page. For large donations or to organize a collection drive, please contact us directly. You can also mail donations to our main office address.
Yes, Cleats For A Cause is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and all monetary donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. You will receive a receipt for your donation that can be used for tax purposes.
Monetary donations are used to purchase new equipment, cover shipping costs for donated items, fund our distribution events, and support our operational expenses. Equipment donations are cleaned, sorted, and distributed directly to children in need through our partner organizations.
You can volunteer in various ways, including helping at equipment collection drives, assisting with sorting and cleaning donated items, supporting distribution events, or providing administrative help.
